East Pittston - Mrs. Ada E. Stilphen, widow of Scott Stilphen, passed away at 1 o'clock Tuesday Morning after a short illness, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Millard Hunt, Dresden Road, East Pittston. Mrs. Stilphen was born in Monmouth Maine Oct. 18, 1858, and was the daughter of Ariel and Lavine (Call) Loomis.
Mrs. Stilphen leaves two sons, Alfred Stilphen of Pittston, Senator Alden C. Stilphen of Dresden; two daughters, Miss. Alice Stilphen and Mrs. Millard Hunt, both of Pittson, four grandchildren, Mrs. Sylvanus Ireland, Pittston, Carl M. Stilphen, Portland, Mrs. Gordon Brook, Pittston and Clyde Stilphen of Dresden; also three great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Dresden Mills Methodist Church, and had lived in Pittston for 65 years. The past two years since her own home was burned she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Millard Hunt.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1;30 o'clock from the Amesbury-White Funeral Home, 39 Washington Street, Gardiner.
