DORR - LAURA ALICE 'GRAY' - Bar Harbor, 1929

LAURA  ALICE  'GRAY'   DORR

Bar Harbor Times
October 9,  1929

Mrs. Elmer E. Dorr died at 4;30 on Tuesday morning, after a period of failing health which ended in an acute illness of about two weeks.  Mrs. Dorr was before her marriage Mrs. Laura Alice Gray.  She was born in July, 1861, in South Penobscot, the daughter of Joab and Betsy (Gray) Gray.  She had resided in Bar Harbor for the past 40 years.  Besides her husband she leaves her sister, Mrs. Reuben Gray, while Mrs. Linnie Morrison, her cousin, had always been as close as a sister to her.
Mrs. Dorr was a woman whose chief characteristic was her kindleness to those about her and especially toward any neighbor who was in illness or in trouble.  She was devoted to her home, loyal to her friends, and always ready with kindly words and deeds to all about her.  Her death brings deep sorrow to her relatives and to her friends, who extend the deepest sympathy.
Funeral services will be held from the late residence in Second South Street on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
