Nobleboro - Mrs. Alice Mae Simmons, 99, the town's oldest resident, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Laila Howell, Monday, after a long illness.
She was born in Nobleboro in 1866. She was the holder of the Bosten Post gold-headed cane and was a practical nurse. She attended the North Nobleboro Baptist Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Howell, and Mrs. Verna Little, Nobleboro; two grandsons, and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. at 77 Main Street, Waldoboro, with the Rev. Warner Howard, officiating.
Burial will be in the Nash Cemetery, Nobleboro.
