BAGLEY - NORMAN E. - East Machias, 2015



EAST MACHIAS – Norman E. Bagley, 87, died July 15, 2015 at a Bangor hospital. He was born in East Machias May 29, 1928 the son of the late Asa and Cassie (Young) Bagley.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving a certificate of appreciation from the Citizens of Maine. He was a life member of the D.A.V., a member of Warren Masonic Lodge #2 A.F. & A.M. in East Machias, and served as a selectmen for the town of East Machias. He was an avid outdoors man enjoying hunting, and fishing, he enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He did construction work and mechanic work in his earlier years, and then retired from the Maine Central Railroad. Following his retirement he could be seen with his wife Adair on the dike selling hand made painted baskets which they made together.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Adair (Ellsmore) Bagley. He touched many lives and will be fondly remembered by many special friends, especially Troy Huffman and family . Troy stayed with him until the end.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by four siblings; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 11 am Saturday July 18, 2015 at the Jacksonville Cemetery in East Machias with Pastor Bill Holmes officiating. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.mcclurefamilyfuneral.com.
