Miss Frances H. Brewer, 61, of Bar Harbor, died unexpectedly Thursday at her home on Cottage Street.
She was born here June 3, 1905, daughter of Fred and Georgia (Hodgkins) Brewer.
She was a member of the St. Saviour's Episcopal Church and a graduate of the University of Maine in 1926.  She was a graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1930 and held a master's degree from Teachers College, Columbia University.  She was administrator supervisor of St. Luke's Hospital Center at the time of her retirement in January 1960.
Surviving are two brothers;  C. Leslie Brewer of Bar Harbor and Arthur R. Brewer of Lamsine, Mich., several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Mcfarland Funeral Home, the Rev. Harold A. Hopkins Jr. of St. Saviour's Episcopal Church officiating.
Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Hulls Cove.
