SMITH - JOSEPH - Ellsworth, 1887

JOSEPH   SMITH

Mount Desert Herald
September 30,  1887

Mr. Joseph Smith of the lumber firm Smith and Davis of Ellsworth, died very suddenly at his residence in that city last Monday morning.  He got up as usual but was taken suddenly ill, when he laid down, and died in a few moments, of apoplexy.  He was fifty-five years of age.  Mr. Davis, his partner, died about a year ago, and since that time the business has been carried on by Mr. Smith and Mrs. Davis, and the firm has been regarded as one of the best in the city.
