PRUDENCE HAMOR YOUNG
Bar Harbor Record
September 16, 1903
One of Eden's oldest and most respected inhabitants passed away when Mrs. Prudence Hamor Young died at Salisbury Cove last Wednesday. Funeral services were held on Friday, Rev. Gideon Mayo officiating. Mrs. Hamor was born in the town of Eden ninety-five years ago, the daughter of David and Experience Hamor. Since the death of her husband, Eben Young, in 1895, she made her home at the homestead with her son, Capt. Pelig H. Young and his wife. Mrs. Young was a woman of sterling qualities and was honored and respected by the entire community. Her death will be felt by a large number, as she was a-kin to many families in the town. Mr. Alden Hamor of Hulls Cove is a brother, Eben and James Hamor of West Eden, nephews. The children surviving her are Mrs. Willard Hopkins of Bar Harbor, Capt. Pelig H. Young of Salisbury Cove, Mrs. Armena Willard of Mass., Gilbert F. of Boston and Orient E. of Colorado.
