DR.  HORACE  H.  LEAVITT

Dr. Horace H. Leavitt, 84, of Somesville, died at his home here September 6, 1966.
He was born at North Andover, Mass., April 7, 1882, son of the Rev. Horace Hall and Mary Kelly Leavitt.
He was a graduate of Princeton University and of Union Theological Seminary in New York City.  In his Ministry he had served churches in Amagansett, Long Island, Brooklyn, New York and Honollulu, Hawaii.
He is survived by his widow, the former Louise Bartlett Whiteman of Rochester, N.Y., two daughters, Mrs. Constance L. Scott, and Mrs. Cario A. Ninfi, all of Somesville;  a sister, Mrs. Charlotte L. Gilpatrick of the Bronx, N.Y., four grandchildren, Mrs. John M. Williams, John Michael Scott, Mrs. Susan Scott Parker, David Leavitt Lucas;  a great grandchild, Elizabeth M. Williams; several nieces and nephews.
He was a life long summer resident of Mount Desert, and upon retirement in 1943, he and Mrs. Leavitt made Somesville their home.
Services were held at the Fernald Funeral Chapel, Somesville, September 8.
Internment was in Brookside Cemetery, Somesville.
