HARVEY STANLEY
Bar Harbor Times
November 27, 1943
In the passing of Captain Harvey Stanley the town of Cranberry Isles has lost a fine citizen and business man. His sudden death is felt most keenly in his home and in the community where he has lived all his life except the past few years when he has lived at Northeast Harbor during the winter months.
He is survived by his wife, who was before their marriage in 1913 Mrs. Jennie Miller of Old Town; a daughter, Miss Gertrude, who is a teacher at Isleford; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Stanley, of Cranberry Isles, one brother, Merrill E. Stanley, of Southwest Harbor, two uncles, William D. Stanley of Southwest Harbor and Lewis G. Stanley of Cranberry Isles, a nephew, Roger Stanley, of Southwest Harbor and several Nieces.
Captain Stanley was fifty-two years of age.
Funeral services were held in the Cranberry Isles Church last Wednesday morning at 11;00 o'clock. The Rev. Melvin Hutchins, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated. The many and beautiful floral tributes spoke openly of the high standard in which he was held. Bearers were Merrill Stanley, brother of the deceased, and Charles Richard, Chester Enoch and Boynton Stanley, cousins. Burial was in Old Town.
