ELIA AUGUSTA GREEN

Mrs. Elia Augusta Green, wife of Charles S. Green, passed away at her home on Main Street, on Thursday, June 21, following an illness of several months.
Mrs. Green was born on May 18, 1958, the daughter of the late Samuel and Sophia Kitfield. Following the death of her mother, wjich occurred when she was three years old, she made her home with her grandparents, at Surry, and with her Aunts, staying many years with Dr. and Mrs. E.L. Grindle, at Somesville, whose home she left at the age of twenty, when she married and came to Bar Harbor.
Mrs. Green was a member of the Frances Dighton Chapter, D.A.R. of Bangor.
Surviving Mrs. Green are her husband, and four cousins, Dr. J.L.Grindle of Northeast Harbor, Miss Flora Milliken and Dr. Herbert Milliken, of Portland and Dr. Howard Milliken of Hallowell.
Funeral services were held at the home on Saturday afternoon, with a profussion of flowers giving testimony of the friendship and love of many. Rev. Addison Moore, of Richmond Va., officiated. The bearers were John Prebble, Cjarles T, Higgins, J.H. Butterfield, J.M. Milliken, Fred Sopp and Lester Pervear.
Internment was in the family lot at Ellsworth.
