Lewiston - Edward C. Furbush Sr., 85, died Saturday at an Auburn Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 12, 1888 in Greene, the son of Fred and Myra Jones Furbush.
He was educated in Greene and graduated from Monmouth Academy. He operated a garage in Lewiston for 40 years. In 1914 he married Winnifred Turner at Greene. She died in 1948. In 1963 he married Agnes Rich in New Hampshire. He was a member of Monmouth Masonic Lodge AF and AM and the Monmouth United Church. He was a 65 year member of Androscoggin Grange.
Survivors include his wife Agnes of Lewiston; a daughter, Mrs. Deborah Nutter of Derry, NH; a son, Edward Furbush Jr. of Stanton Island NY; a brother, Melburn Furbush of South Portland; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Main Street, Monmouth.
Burial will be in the Valley Cemetery, Greene, in the spring.
