Mrs. Elizabeth Beckett Bousfield, 47, wife of the Rev. Neal Bousfield, superintendent of the Maine Sea Coast Missionary Society, died at a Bangor Hospital Friday after a brief illness.
She was born in Calais March 29, 1909, daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. James Merrill Beckett.
Mrs.  Bousfield had resided in Bar Harbor more than 20 years, where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church and instructor in the Weekday Religious Education Program.  She was a member of the Signia Kappa Sorority and Pi Gamma Mu honor society at Colby College.  She was also a member of the Bar Harbor Women's Literary Club.
Surviving besides her husband, of Bar Harbor, are a son, James E. Bousfield, a student at the University of Maine;  a daughter, Private Martha Bousfield, WAC, AMSS, stationed at Fort Sam Houstor, Texas, and two brothers, George Gardner Beckett of South Hamilton, Mass., and Louis Merrill Beckett of Calais.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Bar Harbor Monday.
Internment was in the Bousfield family lot at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Woolwich.
