Harvey L. Gilbert, 72, died Sunday at the MDI hospital after a long illness.
His death followed closely that of his brother, H. Brunell Gilbert, also of Eden, who died August 18.
Harvey Gilbert was born in Bar Harbor July 8,  1877, son of Herman D. and Mary (Lally) Gilbert.  He married Eldora Thomas Higgins.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son from a former marriage, Harvard of Eden;  a sister, Mrs. Sherman Salisbury of Bar Harbor, and two grandsons and one grand-daughter, all of Eden.
Funeral services were held at the Town Hill Church Wednesday at 1 p.m., Rev. Joseph Mathews officiated.
Burial was in the Town Hill Cemetery.
