Fred Leon Gardner, 73, of Northeast Harbor, passed away at his residence, May  21.  Son of the late A. Warren Gardner and Eva  I. Cass Gardner of Haverhill, Mass..  Mr Gardner was born on September 8, 1873, at Flaistow, N.H..  His earlier years were spent at Haverhill, Mass..  For a number of years he was an employee of the Central Maine Power Company of Augusta, serving under Mr. Wyman During the past nine years while he has been a resident of Northeast Harbor, he was agent for McNess, in which work he made many friends over a wide area.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fred L. Gardner, and by distant relatives.
Funeral services were held on Friday, May 23.  A prayer service for the family and close friends was conducted at the residence by Rev. Merion B. McKendry, of the Mount Deseert Larger Parish.  The church services were held at the Parish House of St. Mary's Church where Rev. Ellwood Hanrum of Southwest Harbor was the officiating rector,  Internment was in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Northeast Harbor.
The bearers were Eugene Ashley, Eugene Haynes, Elmer Meader and Arthur Walls.
