Ernest E. Martin of Seal HArbor, who was taken ill on Christmas Day with pneumonia, died on Friday night, Jan. 2.  The news brings grief to many friends.  Mr. Martin was born in Sullivan on January 18th, 1961, the son of the late Alterias and Margaret Pettee Martin.  He had been a resident of Seal Harbor since early youth.  Mr. Martin's wife, who was Miss Mary I. Mynam of Seal Harbor, died last July.  He leaves a son, Harlan and a brother, Herbert of Seal Harbor.  Mr. Martin was a man who took a great interest in all community affairs and he was liked and respected by a host of friends.  He was a carpenter by trade, a man industrious, capable and highly esteemed by employees and fellow workmen, a good citizen, a kindly neighbor and friend.  Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Congregational Church at Seal Harbor, Rev. Mr. Gibson officiating.  The bearers were Doane and Samuel Candage,  Alton Stinson, Alfred Bagley, Frank Huston and Irving Clement.  A male quartet from Bar Harbor sang and there was a large attendance of friends and a profussion of flowers.  Burial was in Seal Harbor.
