Plummer recently died at the Almhouse in Gardiner, Maine.  Deceased was a graduate of Harvard College and Dane Law School some forty years ago or more, and married a daughter of George Edwards of Cambridge.  Settling near Boston, he engaged in the practice of law, and was elected a member of the Mass. Legislature, where he showed himself a ready and polished debater, especially in political discussions, he being a gealous Wing.  A few years later he removed to Gardiner, where his wife shortly after died, leaving him with two sons.  For a while he was editor of the Gardiner Transcript.  Several years later his father died and left him a property of some $50,000, mostly in real estate.  As soon as he came in possession of his inheritance he began leading an intemperate life, and in course of time he had squandered every cent and became a vagabond.  Some two years ago he was taken to the poor farm.
