ARTHUR  H.  LAWFORD

Arthur H. Lawford, 62, died at the MDI hospital Sunday, after a prolonged illness.
A painter by trade, he worked for his father, the late Henry Lawford, and also painted signs for the town for several years.  He was a veteran of the First World War.
One of the first in this town to have a short wave receiver, he was the first in Bar Harbor to receive the news of the sinking of the Lusitania, even before the local Navy radio station.
He is survived by two sons, Wilson of California and Woodrow of Bar Harbor, and a daughter, Miss Marjorie Lawford of Bar Harbor.
