DOVER-FOXCROFT - Stanley L. Dow, 92, husband of the late Alice B. (Tyler) Dow, died Jan. 7, 2002, at a local nursing home. He was born Oct. 16, 1909, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Lewis H. and Lillian (Mitchell) Dow.A World War II, U.S. Army veteran, he had been employed at Cushing Dye Co. in Dover-Foxcroft. Mr. Dow was a 50 year member of the P of H No. 236 Grange, and a member of Chadbourne Merrill American Legion Post No. 29.
He is survived by a stepson, Lowell Tyler of W. Palm Beach, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Gloria Kinison of Bowerbank, Colleen Merrill of Kennebunk; a brother, Lewis H. Dow Jr. and his wife, Leona of Sebec; three sisters, Alice Shepardson of Dover-Foxcroft, Helen Thomas of Naugatuck, Conn., Luella Ostrotsky of Easton, Conn.; a sister-in-law, Lucy Dow of Sebec, several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, with Rev. Neil Gastonguay officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot in East Dover Cemetery.
