CAMBRIDGE: Elliott W. Dow 65 died March 26, 2007 at his Cambridge Home following a long illness. He was born in Plymouth Dec. 22, 1941 the son of Carl I. and Clarice (Gray) Dow. Elliott was a U.S. Army veteran serving on active duty and then discharged to the Army National Guard. He married Dorothy Gamblin in Dexter Dec. 23, 1966. Elliott worked at Hardwood Products in Guilford for 37 years retiring in 2006. He enjoyed working in his woodworking shop; he especially enjoyed spending time with his son-in-law Orman, reading western novels, and listening to his favorite country singer Marty Robbins. He loved to hunt, fish, gardening, and just being in the out doors.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years Dorothy “Dot” Dow of Cambridge, two daughters Jolene and her husband Orman Gray of Sangerville, Deidra Dow of Cambridge, two grandchildren, Ashley Gray and Zoey Marie Dow-Cookson both of Cambridge, one uncle Lawrence Dow of Buxton, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers George I Dow and Roy F. Dow. He will be remembered by his mother -in-law Lillian Frost of Dover-Foxcroft, his brother-in-law and his wife Claude and Irene Freeman of Kenduskeag, and his K-9 friend Diesal. Elliott loved and was loved by his family and many friends and will be sadly missed.
Graveside services will be conducted later this spring at the Sawyer Cemetery Plymouth. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center 34 High St Newport.
