DOUBLE FUNERAL FOR MRS. MAYO AND SON DONALD K.

FANNIE  M. and DONALD K. MAYO

Southwest Harbor Mourns Loss of Fine Woman and Respected Young Business Man

The double funeral service for Mrs. Byron H. Mayo and her son, Donald King Mayo, who died on Sunday with pneumonia, was held at their late home on Tuesday afternoon.  The house and porches were filled with sorrowing friends and relatives and many beautiful flowers filled the large living room where the two caskets stood side by side.  Rev. John E. Blake of the Methodist Church said prayers and read the scripture and Rev. Clarence Emery of Ellsworth, a lifelong friend of the family, spoke briefly and simply of the promises of immortally.
Mrs. Mayo was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Dolliver of Manset.  Her mother died when she was but a child and she went to live with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David King.  She was married in early life to Byron H. Mayo, who died about eight years ago.  She was a quiet and home loving woman, devoted to her children and grandchildren and clearly loved by her many friends by whom she will be sadly missed.
Donald King Mayo was born about thirty years ago.  He graduated from the Southwest Harbor High School and attended the State University.  He has been engaged in business in town since his graduation from college and was one of the successful young business men of the town.  He leaves a widow, who was miss Agnes Eggleston of Guilford, Maine, and a little daughter, Corrine and his sister Mrs. Eva Joy whose loss of both mother and brother at one blow is indeed hard to bear.  The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.

NOTE;  Bryon H. Mayo married Fannie M Doliver.  Bryon's parents were  Josiah Knowles Mayo and Irene Robinson.
Fannie's parents were Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Dolliver of Manset.
